After all, why do they make such great cars? 4. The Japanese culture is by nature hell bent on attention to minutiae and detail. (If you need to ask me why this is true, then you already disqualify yourself from being any kind of judge of good sushi). The sushi chef must either be a Japanese person or have studied under a Japanese sushi chef. Sorry, long grain rice any other country just doesn't cut it and usually falls apart. The rice must either be imported from Japan or must be Japanese rice from California. (if it has a strong fishy smell, it's not fresh). The fish must be so fresh you can barely smell it. Here are the 5 elements of good sushi from a true expert, (my wife is Japanese, her uncle was a fish monger in Tokyo for 40 years) 1. Nice ambiance, pleasant service, but sorry, Thyme just doesn't cut the wasabi.

Chinese long grain rice just doesn't cut it. The fish is good quality, the menu has some good Japanese food selections, but sorry, if you want authentic Japanese sushi, you cannot use anything but Japanese SHORT GRAINED RICE. Though they may try, the owners have not captured the essence and culinary art of sushi.

This is another Chinese foray into making money on Americans who don't know the difference between one sushi restaurant or the next. I don't know if I'll ever bring my business back there. In my opinion customers happiness should be #1 priority and in this case it was not. I can't begin to explain how upsetting this situation was they purposely started our dinner early than theirs so we can finish before them. Our friends were seated on the other 16 seater table and it was only them 2. When she did talk to me she tried to cut me off multiple times, she had the audacity to tell me I was rude. Once I realized that we were being seated there as a punishment I asked the manager(Jenny) to speak to her. Our waitress came to our table and before I could say anything she snatched the drink menu, closed it and said "would you like to order anything to drink" ? I was appalled at the fact that she was so rude. My sister and I were seated at a table for 16 people except it was just us two.

The manager came forward and brought me and my sister to our table not telling us what was going to happen. I insisted we be seated together but they wouldn't because it's against "house policy". We went in and wanted to be seated together and they wouldn't because we both had the groupons. We bought the Groupon and on the way in we found a couple friend. I am a Local and decided to try out the Groupon they had available with my sister.
